Concrete work in Lake City
Lake City is a short run straight up US-27 for us, which makes it one of the easiest places for us to schedule. It is also a town with a lot of older concrete in the ground, so a good share of what we do here is replacement rather than new construction.
The established neighborhoods around US-90 and the older sections south of downtown have driveways that were poured thin, poured without reinforcement, or poured before anyone was cutting proper control joints. Those slabs crack in a pattern you can read from the street. Tearing one out and pouring it right is a one-to-two day job and it is most of our Lake City calendar.
Newer builds out toward I-75 are a different conversation — patios, pool decks, and extending a driveway to fit a second vehicle or a camper.
What the ground here does to a slab
Columbia County sits on limestone with sandy soil over it, and the water table can run high after a wet stretch. Pouring onto saturated ground is how you buy a settlement crack two years later, so if it rained hard the day before your pour we will call and move it. Waiting two days beats fixing a slab in two years.
Where you'll find us around Lake City
We work all over Lake City and the surrounding Columbia County area, including around US-90, the I-75 corridor, downtown Lake City and Lake DeSoto. If you are somewhere on the edge of that, call anyway — the map has soft edges.
