Concrete work in Lake Butler
Lake Butler is the north-eastern edge of where we work and it is worth the drive. Union County is small, the housing stock is mostly older, and there is a lot of concrete in the ground that was poured decades ago and is due.
The typical Lake Butler call is a driveway that has cracked into pieces or a porch and walkway that have settled away from the house. Both are tear-out-and-repour jobs, and both are the kind of work where doing the prep properly is the difference between a twenty-year slab and a five-year one.
Because it is a longer run for us, we are straight with people about scheduling. If we cannot get there when you need us, we will say so rather than string it out.
What the ground here does to a slab
Union County soil holds more moisture than the sand closer to the Suwannee, and older Lake Butler slabs frequently failed because they were poured directly on unimproved subgrade. On a replacement we rebuild what is under the slab, not just what is on top of it.
